What is Startup Ventura?
Startup Ventura is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit startup accelerator in Ventura County, California. It backs early-stage founders with mentorship, capital connections, and community so they can build high-growth companies at home instead of leaving for San Francisco or Los Angeles.
Is the accelerator free for founders?
Yes. Startup Ventura’s accelerator and workshops are free for founders, with no tuition and no equity taken. The program is funded by donors and community partners.
Who can apply, and when does the first cohort start?
Early-stage founders based in or building in Ventura County. The inaugural cohort is planned for Spring 2027, backed by committed funding from the City of Ventura. Join the notify list to apply when applications open.

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. Startup Ventura is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 39-2204612), so donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Gifts fund the inaugural cohort and the program that backs local founders.
Who runs Startup Ventura?
Startup Ventura was founded by Luke Erickson, who serves as Executive Director. It is guided by a board of operators and civic leaders, including people behind companies like Curri and the Ventura Chamber of Commerce.
How can I get involved?
You can donate to fund the cohort, partner or sponsor as a business or foundation, mentor a founder or volunteer your skills, apply as a founder, or join the team through an open role. See the Give, Partner, and Careers pages.
